Xyron & Craftwell Blog Hop!

Xyron & Craftwell Blog Hop!

Hello And Welcome to the 4th day of the Xyron & Craftwell Summer Hop!

If you arrived from this blog: http://www.pammejoscrapbookflair.com/

You are in the right spot!

Today I have a simple yet cute bookmark I created for my sweet daughter.

Summer is here, and every summer I make it a point to have my kids read a certain amount of books. Now, I'm actually really relaxed about it, and usually ask they read at least 8 (that's like nothing for 3 months!) but my little girl Olivia is a special case....

You see, she has my genes. I did not enjoy reading until I was 25. This was after Twilight & The Hunger Games/ Divergent (don't judge) series. So, i guess I sort of get it, but I like to do things here and there to encourage reading more.

Case an point here... a vintage bookmark! I say vintage, because of the cute typewriter die cut from the 'Styleboard Collection' By Maggie Holmes. Currently a fave collection of mine!

(used 'vintage' filter to make a point. ;) ^

I made this simple project a little more loose and sort of not perfect. I liked the tattered feel of it. Like, it's well loved because you use it in like every book you have ever read, and since you read a ton it's been places... get it?

Here is an upclose look:

I used Craftwell's delicate dots folder to emboss the bookmark body, and loooove the way it looks!

Used the heart tag from Teresa Collins 'You are My Happy' Collection!!! ^^^^I'm telling you, between all the stuff I buy from Teresa Collins & Maggie Holmes, I'm pretty sure I'm paying for their kids colleges... Ivy League at that! Just love their products!

And all is perfectly glued together using my trusty Xyron mega runner. I only glued the back of things and folded the edges for that used look.

Here is to hoping Olivia develops a love for reading WAY earlier than i did!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Now, lets get you hopping some more!

  14. I love your adorable tag/bookmark, and especially the Craftwell's dots folder.
Now, can I give you a suggestion for your daughter, I let my kids pick out books from the library and go EVERY week to return them, and get more. After all the trips your daughter may find some that she may end up reading. Also, go to Barnes & Noble just to get her ideas on books that she may want to check out too. Good luck.
