Craftwell's Bunny Blog Hop!

Spring Bunny Hop
So excited to be part of Craftwell's Bunny Hop!
If you landed here from, Claire's blog

then you are in the right place!

I was so excited to join the hop, for two big reasons!

1)I LOVE Spring! I live in Texas,so Spring is the best when it comes to weather! <3

2) I was able to turn my Thankful Tree, into my Easter Tree!

A few months back my daugher, and little boy ventured out to the woods for some sticks. This was around Thanksgiving, and we gathered a few sticks to make a thankful tree, like this one

Mine was MUCH smaller as you can see, but I loved cutting out the leaves with my eCraft, and we all wrote on the leaves for what we were Thankful for. It was great reminder or how blessed we are.

But, with Winter now gone, and Spring in full swing, I woke up my Thankful tree, from it's Winter slumber and it bloomed!

I spray painted my branches using, Krylon's Ballet Slipper pink, and then cut-out differend size flowers, and birds using my eCraft, then simply used glue dots to stick the images to the 'tree'.

I topped some of the flowers with mini pearl embellishements that I found at Michael's. Notice how the flowers are cut with such detail! The blue flower is less than half an inch! The eCraft rocks!

Now, this tree looks ready to become our Easter lunch centerpiece!
And now for the giveaway! With the changing of the season, come changing of fashion too!
And I'm giving away this lovely ring & bracelent combo to one lucky winner! I "designed" the ring at this past's winter CHA show! It was a cute freebie, and I just love the color!
The bracelet is a cute little gem that I recently purchased at Forever 21 to match my giveaway!
Is anyone else into torquoise, as much as I am?
I hope so!

Hunger Games Night!

Hunger Games!!!

I'm so excited for today's post! Last night was such a fun night! A few of my friends and I went to see the Hunger Games movie! I'm a BIG fan of the series, and I was counting down the days, until the movie opened! I honestly, devoured those books! I do admit, I started the Hunger Games series after reading the Twilight series, so you can see that going from a sparkly vampire story, to a crazy, sadistic world story, was a wee bit shocking, to say the least. Still the story had me so intrigued that I kept going, until the very last page of Mockingjay, which was in my opinion the best book of the series!

But fast forward to last night. I was planning on going to the 12:02am showing, as I just could not hold off another day to see it! Yes, I'm a nerd. Anyway, I like themes, and yes, I was planning on braiding my hair, and doing some sort of "light" costume for the show. Yep, I'm super awesome.... NOT.

Good thing, a friend of mine saw this awesome tutorial on how to make a mockingjay t-shirt, and  persuaded me to go the tshirt route, and asked if my eCraft could cut out a template, to make something similar. And of course, the answer was YES!!! I was glad I went with the t-shirt, as I would have regretted looking like Katniss Everdeen, after kids. Not very hot, or desirable.

So, I used my eCraft Pro Shop (free software included with the eCraft) To cut a Mockinghay SVG file, that a friend created for me.

It was super easy!!!

Just uploaded my SVG to my eCraft Pro Software, connected my machine to the computer and inserted my cardstock to cut.

Here is a picture of my template after being finished:

I used 0 tabs,  and a pressure of 5 and cut using a stabilizer so that the negative of the image would fall of the page, and I didn't have to "punch" it out off the cardstock.

The Mockingjay cut FLAWLESSLY! And we made several in just a few minutes!

And here is the final product! I simply taped down the cardstock template to a shirt ( I positioned where I wanted, first) Then I grabbed fabric paint, that I mixed with fabric glue, and painted inside the Mockinjay using a stencil brush. Once, done, I simply sprinkled some gold glitter and I was ready to go! I let it air dry, and then blowed dried it a little to speed it up. I have to iron, to seal, but I will do that later in the week after a recuperate from my late movie night... Ugh, I ended up getting home close to 4 am!!! But it was SOOO WORTH IT!!!!

Happy Hunger Games Everyone!

Jazzy Tag

DIY Embellishments

I have another quick little project! I love these types of quick crafts. I recently discovered, Bake & Shrink material. SHOCKING, I know. Anyway, before Bake & Shirk I was buying metal brads, and chipboard embellishments, because you see, embellishments are like earrings on necklaces to an outfit. You need lots and in every color! BUT it's pricey. Well, now that Bake & Shrink is in my life, things have changed, and I'm able to customize and create my own embellishments.

(I'm aware that I typed the word 'embellishent', too many times in that paragraph)

I'm a little obsessed I would say, with the bake & shrink material discovery... And I love it! I made this tag, to dress up a simple paper bag gift to a friend, and it came out quite cute.

I cut out the chevron embellishemnt with my eCraft, and shrunk it to fit the tag.

Yes, I'm also obessed with chevron and lime green. I think it's a disease..

Jazzy Wipee Case

{Blast From the Past}

I'm back on the Craftwell Blog! Today, I made one of my signature crafts, and it kind of made me a little sad :( It has been almost 3 years, since I made one of these, and that's because I no longer need them! I'm talking about, my upholstered wipee cases. I started making these wipee cases after I had my baby girl Olivia, but she is now 5 and will soon be attending Kindergarden!
NOOOOO!!!!! She is so big!
Anyway, after I had Oli, I wanted to have all kinds of cute girly things, since my first born is all BOY and he was just fine, with his plastic wipee case, as he would use it to throw around, and or house small toy cars ;) and lets face it, having a baby is expensive! And having a baby girl, even more so! So, after going to boutiques, and drolling at the sight of these cute wipee cases, I decided to put my big girl pants on, and try to figure out how to replicate them for a lot less!

And I did! And ever since then, these wipee cases have been my go- to baby shower gift, because not only are they cute, they are a darn necessity! And everyone LOVES them!
I have never done a blog tutorial on these wipees, but now I'm sharing the how-to with you! Go check out my wipee case tutorial, on the Craftwell Blog!
While you check that out, I will go cry in a hole now that it's hit me, that I may only make these to gift, and no longer for my own kiddos! :(

{This is me and my little kangaroo Oli in 2007. Matthew is as always, off doing his own thing!}

Spring Card

A Little Sunshine...

I'm excited to show you my first card project!

I used some of my sticker stash purchased at Big Lots, to create this Spring card, and I'm happy with the way it turned out!

I will be real here, I  LOVE making cards! BUT I can't always make them. Truth be told, I'm not like Susie Craft's Alot, that can whip out an amazing card in a moments notice. I need to see a vision of the card, then it happens. And this is what I envisioned today, and here it is!

And lookie here! My eCraft cuts like a dream!!!  Love it!

So, I ask.. Do your projects always turn out as you plan? Or are you like, me and you have to be uber inpired to whip something out?

Would love to get your input!
